The glittery enthusiasm of the 'Fandom High' banner strung across the wall was a little unexpected, but at least it confirmed Vider was where she was supposed to be, even if no one else appeared to be here yet. That part wasn't surprising, considering how early her flight had gotten in, but she seemed to be dealing with the earliness of the hour remarkably well. It might have had something to do with the fact that she was getting used to never getting quite enough sleep any more.

One of the trainers at the Hangadrottin War College had shoved a wad of unfamiliar money into her hand this morning, 'for the journey,' like she was going to some foreign country and not just the East coast. Still, she wasn't going to turn down money so she'd taken it without complaint and used some of it to buy a tea and pastry for breakfast, and once she picked out a seat by the wall where she could prop her spear case and sword up, she settled in to eat, picking the pastry apart into little shreds before putting them in her mouth.

So far this boarding school thing didn't seem so bad, although she was reserving final judgment until she'd actually seen the school.

"I don't know, seems like some of these people might be used to quirky," Isaac said. "Why else would they end up here?"

"Well, that's a fair enough point, I guess," Isabelle conceded. "But enough about them." Look at her caring about people. "How did you end up here? Did your... acquaintance just invite you?"

"No, but his best friend did." Oh, alpha/beta dynamics. "You here because you missed your brother? Or did he miss you?"

"He doesn't know I'm coming." She looked a bit proud of herself for that one, in a slightly mischievous way. "But, sure. And I wanted to see for myself what I've been missing out on, for more than just a weekend. Since Alec's already been getting his turn, and Jace before him."

Max would start whining about coming next, she was sure.

"So it's a family affair," he said with a nod. "Is your brother overprotective? The type of guy who would try to beat another guy up for hitting on you?"

Isabelle snickered. "No, he's harmless."

What she didn't say was that Alec didn't have the time to threaten people who hit on her because he would've had to do it constantly.

"Why?" she asked, with a smirk. "Are you interested in hitting on me without my big brother hitting you for it?"

"I was thinking about it," he said with a smile.

"Well, I wouldn't object to it."

You just wait until she figures out what you are, Isaac.

Hey! He had a type, apparently. Brunettes who could kill him. It was a good type.

"Oooh that's good to know," Isaac said. "Knowing that in advance gives me a boost of confidence. My fear of rejection has significantly lowered."

"Oh, I don't think rejection is something you need to worry about a lot with your face."

Because he looked cherubic, and that was high praise from someone who was kind of part angel.

"That's pretty high praise from someone that looks like you," Isaac said. "I'm going to have to put that on my resume."
