Ben and Anakin were waiting in their usual spot for their students to arrive. "Welcome to Kaz-" Ben frowned, then tried again. "Kazik--"

"Kazakhstan," Anakin finished for him. "It's a country in central Asia."

Rory had told him. Shhh.

"It's cooler there than our last destination, so you will not be getting wet," he continued. "I'm not guaranteeing anything about not getting messy, though."

Isn't he reassuring, class?

Ben shook his head. "Race hard, be safe, don't tick anyone off, and we'll see you at the end of the class."

Wait for the the next student to arrive, then pair up and put on a two-person cow costume from the Almaty Puppet Theater. Walk across town to the marketplace, where you will have to drink an entire glass of fresh milk. Your next location is printed (in Russian script) at the bottom of your glass.

Ask a local to translate if you aren't fluent in Russian.

Okay, so it looked like Theo would be waiting. While he waited, he did put on one half of the cow costume and grumbled the entire time. Dev was grumbling right along with him in his head. Even Ange was a little dubious of this one.

"... so which one of us has to be the back end?"

Victor sounded thrilled about the whole idea. Really.

"Well, that means not being able to see pretty much anything," Theo said thoughtfully, "so...are you good with directions while wearing a dumb costume?"

Victor shrugged. "I'm good with directions," he said. "Don't walk around in dumb costumes enough to know if I'm good at that part."

"Then, you can be the front and I'll be the -- " Sigh. " -- backside. If you can get us there quick, I'd be appreciative."

"Absolutely. I don't wanna be stuck in this thing any longer than you do, dude," Victor said sympathetically, then picked up his half of the cow costume to see how hard it'd be to put on.

Theo made sure his half of the costume was on and secure. He didn't really need the whole end falling off before they got there and they had to stop and waste more time to get him back together.

"I'm good whenever you are."

"May as well get it over with," Victor said. His voice echoed weirdly from inside the cow head.

He backed up to hook his part of the costume to Theo's, then started heading very slowly across the street. He was not going to get killed by a taxi while dressed like a cow.

And Theo was pretty much walking blindly. He trusted Victor to get them where they needed to be but it was still weird to not be able to see where they were going.

It was hot in the costume too despite the cool temperatures. He matched Victor's pace and didn't slow them down.

Alex glared at the cow costume. She was really not happy about this.

At least she was fluent in Russian.

Chaz starred at the cow costume. "This is not going to go well."

"Probably not," Alex replied. Ever the optimist!

"Do you have a preference?" she asked, regarding the costume.

Chaz considered the costume, his ability to lead, and his ability to follow.

"I'll take the back." He said finally.

Anakin just stared at the cow costume for a while. "I have a bad feeling about this."

What, like you wouldn't.

Raven was very, very tempted to cheat and just mimic the whole cow costume herself, but finally decided that it would be too easy to get caught.

"Well," she said, coming up to where Anakin was standing. "At least it isn't muddy."

"Sure. This week," Anakin replied, still giving the cow costume the most dubious look in the universe. "There had to be a catch after the astral water slide from last week."

"You didn't think that was fun?" No, Raven, not everyone is a burgeoning adrenaline junkie.

"What? No, I loved it," Anakin said quickly. Thanks, ridiculous GFFA colloquialisms! "I stayed and did it again after class, actually."

"You stayed after class?" It hadn't even occurred to Raven to do such a thing. "How'd you find your way back?"

"Well, not very long. I had another class to get to." Anakin scrubbed a hand through his hair. "Anyway, I was with Ben and our grandfather at the time."

"Oh," Raven said, feeling slightly foolish. "I didn't realize you all were related."

Her universe hadn't yet developed it's enormous family dynasties yet, after all.

"No, it's okay," Anakin tried to reassure her. "I've had a lot of family here at some point or other, but I don't like making a big deal out of it."

Mercy made a face. "Great. I always wanted to be the ass end of a cow."
