Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Whoever worked their magic to ensure that the welcome picnics had nice weather had cut their mojo very close this time around. The weather was lovely today - sunny and hot enough to make it clear that summer in Fandom had finally begun - but the overnight thunderstorms had left puddles all over the lawn that hadn't quite dried up yet.

Still, the tables and chairs had managed to be scattered around, along with the buffet table of moddable food and drinks, and the information table with name tags, the Big and Little Sibling list, and the list of new roommates. The only thing missing was people to enjoy the festivities!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

The Spirit had found his own means of transportation onto the island, so he'd sadly missed meeting Pinkie Pie on the shuttle. Or maybe it was for the best, even if it meant he didn't know what to expect.

Well, no. He was expecting a dame, was what he was expecting. Pinkie Pie was practically a perfectly adequate name for one where he came from.

But of course, all that temporarily left his mind as he came face to face with a pink pony. "... Huh."

That was strange.

You know, this was enough that just for a second – for a second, and no longer, he almost answered 'Denny Colt'. Something he hadn't done in over a year.

Something he didn't do now, either. But still, he hadn't gotten quite this confused in quite a while.

"I'm the Spirit."

"OMIGOSHOMIGOSHOMIGOSH!" Pinkie breathed. She leaped into the air, gave the red button on the side of her welcome wagon a kick, and burst into song.

Oh hey, she had managed to put the cake and the confetti in the right places this time!

Pinkie was pretty damn used to that. Though one of these days, she was sure someone would join in the singing.

It had to happen eventually.

"It's your welcome song!" she said. "I'm your new teaching buddy, and I'm here to welcome you to Fandom and teaching!"
