Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
There were plenty of tables and chairs scattered around the lawn for anyone who wanted to sit down once they'd had their fill of the buffet, or to recover from starting to find out what this place was all about. No one would judge the need to take a mental breather.
Some of the tables were out in the open, for those who weren't allergic to the sun, and some of the tables were in the shade, or far from the rest of the crowd. Wherever people decided to rest, there was space enough for everyone.
[OCD is up! This is the post for general mingling! Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here! Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
Funny, that.

Always a good way to be. Being shot out of an airlock would have been a crappy end to an otherwise pretty awesome round of escapism.
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
Yeah, one of those things was not like the other.
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
"Shitty deal," Sparkle replied eloquently. "What happened, man?"
Far as he could tell, Olive and Victor had been a pretty good combination.
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
He was trying very hard to believe this. Mostly because he thought it was true, even if it sucked.
"But ... yeah. It's hard."
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
Not that Sparks had ever tried, himself, but he did watch television.
... And he was kind of dating a guy who was older than him. He didn't want to think too hard about what happened when it was Alec's turn to graduate and Sparks was the one getting left behind.

... Which could be a possibility, granted.
"This place is such a freaking tease. And all this on top of the 'weirdness follows you home,' and 'while you're here, it's going to try to fucking kill you' things."
Sparkle had issues with Fandom. A bit.
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
At home he didn't tend to get actually killed.
"But yeah, it's kind of a shit deal for the people who started out from from weirdass worlds without powers."

Sparkle, even Marvel sometimes messed it up. Relax.
"What are the odds I'll get kickass powers too if I like go to your world and get in like some kind of horrible industrial accident, anyhow?"
As opposed to the odds that he'd just end up grotesquely dismembered or something.
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
"Maybe one in a thousand?" he hazarded. "One in five hundred, you come out of it with a tail or fluorescent spit or whatever -- something useless but weird. The rest, you're probably, um, mangled."
Re: Get Your Mingle On! [Summer 2013-1]
Yes. But horse races didn't generally result in people being brutally maimed.
"I'll sleep on it."
No, he wasn't going to run to The 616 to get himself doused in toxic waste or something.
