"Of course you haven't, Gilmore, because I haven't been sitting there for two periods listening to you use every euphemism in your arsenal to avoid discussing orgasms. Good God, if there wasn't another party involved I'm amazed it took you this long to discover self-love."
Angela gave Zero a killing glare. "What the hell, Zero? You ignore us for two weeks and then you decide this is the thing you want to talk to us about? And, and you're rude about it?"
Belatedly, she adds, "And who would Rory have sex with, anyhow?"
"Nobody thought you were stupid. God. And it doesn't count as playing deaf if you spend the next two weeks throwing a fit about it. You think Angel was thrilled I wanted to come?"
Her face is flushed now, and her voice is much louder than is library-appropriate.
"Angel wouldn't let me come. No one would. We got shut down royally," Rory added. "And I only knew about it because Anakin's a bad liar. Parker didn't try to include me or anything."
"Yes, I'm sure he was quite upset you wanted to go get yourself killed, and I'll even give him credit where it's due for keeping the cannon fodder out of the fight. And I see my mistake now. When everyone was talking about a 'study group' for a class I clearly wasn't in, since nobody ever thought once about me, I should have walked up to one of you and demanded to be let in. Yes. That's what I should have done. I so need to study Jungian Archetypes or whatever your cover was."
"Neither of us pulled anyone into it," Rory replied. "We only barely got to stay home and run support. And like I said, it's not like we were recruited. I figured it out and yelled at people until they put me in support."
Angela shot a look at Rory, hoping Isabel Evans' name wouldn't come up.
"I had no freaking clue it was "study group" for days. I got mad my friends were being attacked and told Parker that whatever she did about it, I wanted in. That's it. No huge conspiracy."
"You seem to be vastly missing the point here. I'm not mad because you figured it out. I'm mad because you lied to me and talked around me, and I was less mad at you two than at Parker because at least you didn't go out and try to get yourselves killed--of course, that was before I knew that was only because people with MORE SENSE talked you out of it--but that's rapidly changing."
Rory strode over to the Librarian's office, opened the door, and motioned Zero in.
When the door was shut, she took a deep breath.
"I'm dating Anakin Skywalker in secret, and no one can know this because he will get in huge trouble. Which is why I haven't said anything before now. Angela and Parker both know, and a very small handful of other people who worked it out for themselves, but we haven't been telling people. But I'm telling you, because I trust you not to say anything and you deserve to know," she said quickly, watching Zero.
Rory shrugged. "It's how it has to be. But are we okay? Or at least kind of okay? I don't have any more secrets that I can think of. I mean, yes, I had sex, but that's not so much a secret as TMI."
"I did not lie to you," Angela said. "if you had asked, I would have told you to talk to Parker or Angel. I don't have ESP -- I had no way to know you were feeling left out, or hurt, or neglected, or whatever it is you're feeling."
"Guess what, Angela, I don't have ESP either. I think you're all studying an awful lot, and the next thing I know it turns out my friends have been acting suicidal all week right under my nose."
((ooc: Ha ha, you're not aware of the OOC boilup over this, are you?))
"So, what, I'm supposed to ask your permission for everything I do? Or just regularly report in to you? I was going to go to Soc next period -- is that okay? You aren't my mother."
Angela is too angry to make a lot of sense now.
[OOC: I heard a little, but no, not really. In real life, I'm the one people don't tell things to.]
"You don't get it, you're never going to get it, so why don't we just...leave it there." Zero is so tired of fighting. It's amazing, she held a grudge against Rat for ten years, but this is just wearing her down.
"Whatever. Fine." Angela has only begun to fight, but if Zero wants to let it drop, they can let it drop. "Go talk to Rory. I'm going to ... go be somewhere else."
She is visibly still furious as she grabs her bookbag and walks out of the library.
