Journalistic Integrity (Wednesday, February 15 - 6th period)

"Boys and girls, I want you to answer on simple question for me today: Is it wrong to eavesdrop? Bear in mind, 'eavesdrop' implies that the person in question deliberately overheard. Is that wrong?"

Rita surveyed her class blearily. "Go on. Talk."

"If people are having a conversation in a public place, then they have to assume the risk that they'll be overheard. But if they aren't aware that there are other people around, or are making an effort to keep their conversation private by whispering, then I think it's wrong to try to overhear."

There might have been a small glance in Logan's direction. "And if you stumble across what you can tell is a private conversation, you shouldn't use the information you may accidentally overhear."
