Shop Class: [2/15]

As the student enter the shop, they'll see that it looks like a normal shop classroom with various materials for building having been pulled out from the supply closet.

"All right guys, I know this is a day late and a dollar short but I want you to build something the signifies yesterday's holiday. Or... if you are against valentine's day in general? Something that is symbolizes "Anti-Valentines" day."

Nadia tilted her head. "What has he expressed an opinion on?"

"He prefers mealworms over food-sticks. Even though the worms go straight to his hips."

"I know I have that problem," Nadia grinned. "What made you pick a frog for a pet, anyway?"

"I didn't so pick him as hold a shoebox under my Journalism teacher's desk, and he was the one who hopped in," Xander answered. "He was supposed to be a homework assignment for Music class - find a frog for a scavenger hunt - and he just kind of stayed."

"Your journalism teacher had a frog under her desk?"

"His; this was the old journalism teacher, Professor Jerusalem. And there were a bunch of frogs. He had kind of an infestation going there for a while; I think they followed him back from a field trip."

Nadia laughed slightly. "A field trip where?"

Infestation of frogs? Perhaps the most harmless weirdness she's heard about yet.

"I'm... not actually sure; the preserve on the other side of the island, maybe? I actually missed the field trip because my mun was out of town. But the whole school seemed to get froggified right after that, and especially under Spider's desk."

"Huh." Nadia added field trips to her mental list of things to be careful of. Though she felt much more prepared for them now that she had her leatherman and mallet. "Well, at least you got a pet out of it, right?"

Xander nodded. "The, um. Part where he's purple, that came later, though."

Nadia raised her eyebrows. "Do I want to know?"

"He had an allergic reaction to a magic portal spell, far as we can tell." He grinned. "Which seems to be fixed, because he didn't change colors the last time I took him home for break. But he hasn't turned green again yet either."

"Maybe he just likes being purple."

"It's possible. There's apparently some hardships associated with his previous color scheme."

The joke, unfortunately, goes well over Nadia's head though her mun enjoyed it thoroughly, so she just kind of gives a confused nod. "My cat is blue," she offers, as though this is in some way a reassurance that it's okay to have a purple frog.

"Huh. You have portal issues too? Or did he just come that way?"

"He came that way. I found him in a dumpster in New York, and he kind of just stuck with me. When he's not getting lost in the walls or attacked by muppet chickens, anyway."

Xander snickered. "You too? They invaded our room. Jeremiah We had to chase 'em out with threats of John Tesh pillows."

Nadia grinned. "They were all over the fifth floor, too. They knitted him a kitty sweater, which I guess isn't all that threatening, but it sure seemed to freak Furrball out. And one of them kept sitting on my notebook while I was trying to plot my revenge get some work done."
