Shop Class: [2/15]

As the student enter the shop, they'll see that it looks like a normal shop classroom with various materials for building having been pulled out from the supply closet.

"All right guys, I know this is a day late and a dollar short but I want you to build something the signifies yesterday's holiday. Or... if you are against valentine's day in general? Something that is symbolizes "Anti-Valentines" day."

Feeling more than a little grumpy, Sam first took some wood, duct tape and pipe cleaners. She drilled two holes through the wood and stuck the pipe cleaners through the holes, bending them in a downward direction. She attached a smaller block of wood to the end of the long rectangle of wood with some duct tape and drew on a confused expression using a black Sharpie marker. The end result may have looked like a very crude representation of Jack O'Neill, or it may have just been a coincidence.

Not seeing any anvils around, she spent the rest of the class constructing a trebuchet out of metal pipes, wood, eye hooks and cable. She then took a cinder block and placed it in the correct position, then did some quick calculations and placed the trebuchet in relation to the small wood figure.

When she released the catch on the cable, the trebuchet flung the cinder block through the air. The block landed directly on the wooden figure, breaking it into thousands of splinters, two pipe cleaners, and some rolled up duct tape.

"Thanks, Mac. I feel better now."

She grinned, and it probably wasn't completely pleasant. "Nope. Catharsis comes in many shapes and forms. Sometimes, if you're lucky, it involves wanton destruction, anvils, or explosives."

"Yep, that's exactly why I was watching them yesterday afternoon," she nodded, blowing some stray hair out of her eyes, "homework assignment. I'm behind on my metaphoring."

Sam brightened at the prospect. "There's always next class."

"I leave the choice up to you," Sam replied.
