Evan was actually in a pretty okay mood today thanks to Ozzy cuddles chasing away most of his nightmares last night. The books were all in a decent semblance of order by the time he'd come in, and he was pretty sure Sholeh had done most of the inventory that needed doing during her shift yesterday. That freed up much of his day for doing the really important things.

... Like maybe reading youth romance novels to see if they had any pointers on how to impress a girl. So far he wasn't all that convinced that the characters in the books actually knew what they were doing at all. Doing wheelies on dirtbikes didn't seem all that impressive at all when you had mutant powers and rocket boots.

Teen mutant romance really needed to be a legitimate genre, didn't it?
