"Welcome back."
The space at the front of the class had been cleared of everything besides the desk, which Kaidan was currently perched on top of. "Today, you get to show off," he said. "Talk about your woodworking project, talk about what you're doing with the battlebot. But you have to talk about something."
He crossed his arms. "You've all got your partners now - Jessica, Lex, I didn't get a sign-up from you, so you're a team. Bucky, you're with me." He had a feeling this could only end in tears otherwise - or a roomba with a knife on top. (Actually, it might still end up with a roomba with a knife on top.) "Other than the presentations, today is your planning class. Huddle up with your partner and draw up plans if you haven't done so already. If you have, get to work. Next week, we'll be focusing on auto repair, so you might not have time to work."
"First person takes the floor..." He glanced over the class. "You."

Re: Battlebot Partners
"...You get to figure out how to make it work, by the way."
Re: Battlebot Partners
Okay, maybe he'd taken a bit of an intuitive leap from 'vaguely avian' to 'flight-capable, but it would be a challenge, and he was almost bouncing with excitement at the idea.

Re: Battlebot Partners
He pulled up a file on the datapad and slid it over so she could see without (hopefully) anyone else eavesdropping: it included ideas like creating oil slicks, EMP pulses to temporarily freeze up the other bot's circuitry, and finding a way to interface with the other bot's programming and hack its code.

Much to C-3P0's despair.

"Nice," she said approvingly. "My dad runs car washes. But he used to play baseball."

Re: Battlebot Partners
(And somewhere, John Kennish was wincing and didn't know why.)
"Your dad gave up the smuggling thing for your mom?"
Re: Battlebot Partners
He shrugged. "You know."
