Improving Your Skills [Friday, 3rd Period]

Clint was aware that there was something a little strange going on in town, so when the students arrived at the Danger Shop, they'd find it set up like an outdoor paintball field, with suits, guns, and purple and green paintballs.

Red vs. blue was just boring, honestly.

"Even the strongest, most power-laden people can sometimes find themselves up against an enemy that's stronger than themselves, and at that point, their only real option is to team up with others to deal with the bad guys together," Clint said. "The problem is, powerful people don't always know how to work well with others." Sorry Tony, but at least you were getting better at it? "Unless you're planning on winning the lottery and living on a yacht somewhere for the rest of your life, you're going to have to work with others, and knowing how to deal with differing personalities and still get the job done is an important skill." With a grin, Clint pointed to the paintball supplies. "Half of you are Team Purple, and half are Team Green. Get yourselves suited up, and may the best team win."

Maddie had never played paintball, but she was really pretty experienced at working in a team, so she figured she might actually be really good at this. And she was putting on all the needed gear in the hopes that she wouldn't automatically just disappear once something got fired at her, because that would be a bad thing to do in this class. For a lot of reasons.

Mostly Minako was finding ways to cover up her hair. Because, well, she had a LOT of it, and YOU try getting paint out of long blonde locks!

There were so many things Stephanie could have said about that lecture. So many, pretty much all of them related to Bruce and not playing well with others and super-powered people and . . .

She kept herself to some tight-lipped eyerolling, anyway. Because boy, did all that sound familiar.

But whatever -- she suited up eagerly. Woooooo paintball!

Stephanie preferred purple herself, but you know, green was one of her uniform colors right now and she was fine with that.

Better to find out now than in the middle of the fight, right? Of course, this plan did sort of assume people would A) answer, and B) answer accurately. Oops.

Sholeh, armed with a paintball gun she barely knew how to use and enough trepidation for three (okay, two, Zeela was delighted), climbed onto a hill and waited.

=Don't just stand there like a target,= Zeela hissed. =Get down, on your belly! Less area for the enemy to hit!=

Sholeh hastily dropped down and looked for other people to shoot. She hoped this didn't hurt anyone!

Kate, who in no way waited to sign in until she could be on the superior color's team, was there.

She also thought it was a shame Clint appeared to be so paint-free. Perhaps that should be fixed?
