If Sholeh was giggly yesterday, it hardly compared to how nervous Evan was this morning through his library shift. A date tonight? Like, a real date? With a girl? How in the world had he managed that, and what had he been thinking? And how was he going to get through tonight without totally messing everything up, and...

Some of the books were going to attempt to calm him down a little, by getting a few of his favorites to sit up on the desk in the hopes that he'd notice them. Would he? Wouldn't he? Well, that was a mystery for the ag-

"Hey! Jonathan Livingston Seagull!"

Funny how that actually worked.

It has books! Scads of books! Mountains of books!

He will be alternating between panicking and reading for the duration of his shift.

After Ethics, then a quick stop in town, Yeul made her way to the library. After all, she'd gone to see Sholeh yesterday so it made only good sense that she would go and see Evan today.

"Hello, Evan," she said cheerfully. "Drink?"

She had an apple cider with his name on it! Literally, since the barista at the Perk had written it there for her.

Evan was halfway through another page in his book when Yeul arrived, so, fortunately, he wasn't in that 'freaking out' stage again. He offered her a little smile, put a bookmark between the pages, and sat up to greet her.

"Thank you, Yeul! What's the occasion?"

He certainly wasn't going to turn it down- that cider smelled fantastic, after all.

"Do I need an occasion?" Yeul asked, laughing a bit as she offered him the cider and leaned against the desk with her own. "I felt like it."

She'd been feeding people a lot this week. It was rather nice.

"That's as good a reason as any," Evan decided, laughing a little before taking a mouthful of cider. Oh, that was good. "So, how have you been, then?"

He suspected she'd been doing pretty okay.

"About the same as always," Yeul said, her smile going a bit wry. "But I suppose that is not much of a shock?"

"Well, better the same all the time than terrible," Evan replied, laughing a little. "I'd hate to think that any of my friends weren't doing well, you know?"

So, keep up the good work, Yeul!

"True enough," she admitted. "Though I am hard pressed to think of a time when I would be doing terribly."

Because even if things were going terribly, Yeul would regard it as just another day.

"Then you're doing really well," Evan decided. "There's an outlook I'd like to learn, too. I've been off and on nervous all day."

"I hope you never learn it," Yeul said quietly but smiling anyway. "Why are you so nervous?"

Was Yeul a terrible friend for hoping it was about something that was spelled d-a-t-e?

Not terrible, nope!

Well. Maybe a little.

"I... um... maybe have plans with Sholeh again," Evan admitted, fidgeting with his cider cup. "Tonight. For dinner."

Yeul grinned at her cider. "Like a date?" she asked innocently.

Totally a terrible friend.

So help Evan, his face was going to break if he smiled any broader, himself.

"It's a date," he confirmed. "We called it a date. Like, a date. For dinner. With Sholeh."

A beat.

"I have no idea what to do."

If he's in today!
