Flight- Monday- 3rd period

The students had been instructed to meet in the Danger Shop, where they'd find themselves in a large field with hot air balloons in front of them. They'd also find Jaina, who was back to her correct gender and was shielding like woah, because sdhsdhs, basically.

"I did tell you you'd by flying all sorts of craft, didn't I?" she began. "For those of you who don't know, this is a hot air balloon. People get in these, fly through the air, and let the wind take them where it will. I think it's crazy, personally, but as long as we're in the Danger Shop, that's sort of the place for crazy."

She gave them a short lecture on how to actually work the things- most importantly how to get down- and said, "I want you to pair up in twos or threes if you want and take one of these things up for a while. And please, no one push anyone else out of the baskets, that's just uncalled for."

Oh, like Anakin would admit it most of the time when he wasn't okay, either. It usually took Tahiri kicking him repeatedly in the shins and not leaving him alone for hours on end for that to happen, and even then there was massive reluctance.

"You're okay enough to give us a really mean assignment like this," he decided, with a quick flash of a smile to let her know he was (partly) kidding.

She knew him, clearly.

"For starters," Anakin replied. Hey, if she was going to try for teasing he could help, because repressing always trumped dealing with issues, right? Right. "There aren't even a whole lot of ways I can come up with to improve on the design."

Anakin couldn't resist sticking his tongue out at her. "So this is supposed to build character, huh?"

Anakin heaved a sigh that was much more melodramatic than it needed to be. "Just because Dad wouldn't let any of us fly the Falcon when we were kids."

He said, as if he wasn't still one.

File that one under Things Anakin Never Needed To Know.

"It doesn't count if someone's getting kidnapped," Anakin insisted, because why not nitpick? "Just tell me we'll get to fly something where I can test out Fiver's new programming?"

"Have I ever told you," Anakin said, breaking out into a grin, "that you're the best sister ever?"

Sometimes it took so little to make him happy. A very specific kind of little, granted.

"Well, you're welcome then," he told her. "This doesn't mean I'm going to go around telling you every day, though."

"You'd better. Your memory can't be going yet; you're not that old," Anakin replied, smirking faintly.
