Library, Wednesday, All Day
Sholeh had come into work today humming. Even Professor Priest's lecture on demons hadn't been able to shake her good mood. Her birthday had been wonderful, Po being out with Yeul had meant there was time for her sisters to come out and enjoy their brownies, and the book she'd borrowed to read had been an excellent choice. In short, nothing could ruin her excellent mood.
Or so she thought until she walked into the library and saw water sheeting down from the ceiling. Panicking, she yanked off her petticoats, trying to sop up the water before it ruined any of the books. A few seconds later, the waterfall stopped and Sholeh nearly went limp with relief when she saw that it had missed all of the nearby books.
She'd no more thought that than another downpour started, this time next to the circulation desk.
That set up the pattern for the afternoon. Water would start cascading from the ceiling, Sholeh would dash over and try to soak it up, it would stop, she'd relax for a bit, and then the flooding would start somewhere else.
At least the books were spared?

Talk to Sholeh
Re: Talk to Sholeh
"Happy belated- GAH!" Ulrik managed to dive out of the way of a downpour just in time to avoid the disaster that would have been soggy lemon-strawberry cake.
Re: Talk to Sholeh
It's like the library was just messing with her on purpose now.

She shoved her skirt around the puddle for a moment, then relented. "I'm sorry, Ulrik. I don't mean to snap at you. I'm just grumpy."

Because Ulrik had been so hurt, Sholeh, truly.

Those shining eyes meant every exclamation point, Ulrik. Every single one.
"And you brought gifts for Zeela and Zhahar, too? That's so incredibly thoughtful! We can't thank you enough."
