Shira's library shift had gotten switched, but that was okay. She had a feeling she was going to like Fridays better, anyway. And so far, at least, it seemed like a non-crazy Friday.

And by "non-crazy Friday" she meant that she wasn't breaking up any attempted takeovers of one section by another section. That happened more often than you'd think it did, really. She'd always wondered why that was.

She bustled around doing her work -- and mentally making plans for Sunday, since she was now off.

"Shira, no-last-name, am I right?" John asked as he stuck his head out of the office. "Right. It's Friday, pet, why are you actually working?"

There was something seriously wrong with the kids around here.

"'cause it's something to do," Shira said with a shrug. "I like it in here."

"....They've put some sort of responsibility potion in the water, haven't they?" Now John was going to eye his coffee pot dubiously. "Because I can't think of another reason why all of you have been so diligent all week, unless you're already plotting an uprising against me."

"If we were, would we really tell you?" Shira pointed out, fighting a smile. "And hey, first couple weeks, people are always diligent. Give us time, I'm sure we'll be living down to your expectations."

She liked this guy already.
