Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There was the bonfire for everyone who thought Maryland in January was a little too cool for their taste, as well as the moddable warm food and drinks, and chairs and tables in the school colors of blue and gold. Some tables were also set a little further away from the crowds.

Because there were always people who preferred the fringes.

Victor jumped. "I saw her," he confirmed, once he was done flinching. "Purple hair, right? Or is there another one?"

He sounded ... slightly more douwnbeat about this news than Topher might have expected.

"Purple hair," Topher agreed. "Should I talk to her? I want to talk to her. There's a dinosaur!"

Okay. Breathe, Topher. Breathing was good.

"Talk to her if you want to?" Victor said, with a little shrug. "She's not the friendliest person ever, but she seems to be in a good mood if you don;t spaz at her."

He glanced over to Topher. "I got another Karolina situation, here."

"Wait, that's your dinosaur?" What were the odds of -- oh. Hang on. "Oh, you meant the girl," Topher realized. "Right?"

"That is Old Lace," Victor confirmed. "And that's Old Lace's first owner. So actually it's both of them. She's got no idea who I am."

Topher whistled. "Awkward," he pronounced. "Are you going to tell her you know her? In time-travel movies that's usually frowned-upon."

"Not yet," Victor said, sounding distinctly uncomfortable.He never liked to lie, even by omission. "I think it just made Karolina uncomfortable, you know? Maybe later, once she knows me a little better."

"Probably a good plan," Topher decided. "If I talk to her, I'll try to avoid mentioning the you-being-a-toaster situation."
