Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
There was the bonfire for everyone who thought Maryland in January was a little too cool for their taste, as well as the moddable warm food and drinks, and chairs and tables in the school colors of blue and gold. Some tables were also set a little further away from the crowds.
Because there were always people who preferred the fringes.
[OCD up! This is the FIRST post for general mingling. Please use this post first, if your browser can handle the comment load. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here and there's more room for mingling here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Ikol cawed in annoyance at that conclusion, but stayed silent beyond that to allow Loki to continue on his path of questioning.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Actually...
"I mean, I'm not. Not last I checked." He would be incorrect. "Do dead people usually run around without shoes?"
Yes, apparently!
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
It was possibly also the first arm poke that Jack had ever gotten, godly or not. He blinked, lifting a hand to rub at where Loki had poked him.
"And do you see a lot of dead people around here, by any chance?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Oh, the things that Jack didn't know about the Guardians. Those memories that he didn't have sure would come in handy, wouldn't they?
"But then, I don't really tend to go looking for them, either."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"What are you then?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"Jack Frost," he replied, looking curiously at the other boy. "The spirit of winter?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"Ah." Loki gave him another appraising look. "I am Loki of Asgard. It is nice to meet you, I assume."
For now.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"It's nice to meet-" Anybody. "-you, too. Loki... Mischief, right? Norse pantheon?"
Jack had a lot of time to learn about fellow legends over the past three centuries, at least.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Plus Loki got bonus points for being able to see him.
"Great!" It was! It really was! "So... what is this place? I've spent three centuries with people walking right through me, and then suddenly I come here and half the people that walk by me stop to ask me what I'm doing up in a tree."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Maybe he'd use that later, and draw stick men doing horribly inappropriate things on the dorm room window in the frost for Charley...
"The hormones are a normal mortal teenager thing, right?"
He had to check.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"I would assume so," Loki assured him. "It is quite the preoccupation on the internet."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Sex was one of those things that Jack managed to not think about too often. A result of spending three centuries convinced that physical contact of any sort with someone who could see him was going to pretty much be right out of the question.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Wikipedia for instance...
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"I don't suppose you'd be willing to show a wayward winter spirit how, by any chance?" Jack shot Loki his most winning smile. "The highest form of technology that I've held in my hands... pretty much ever... is a stick."
Which was, as one might be able to tell by looking at the staff in his hand, very definitely... a stick.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Loki looked from the boy to the staff for a moment before shrugging and pulling out his phone. "You may borrow my phone if you wish."c
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Well, that was way easier than Jack had anticipated, really. He blinked, and held out his hand for the phone, kind of staring at it with a flat-out mix of wonder and bafflement on his face.
He really, really had no idea what to do with it, now.
"So... people just... touch the screen part and it does things, right?"
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
StarkTech, of course they had their own browser.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
It was fortunate that touchscreens were capacitive, not heat-sensitive. So much of the magic of discovering the internet would have been lost in that moment, otherwise.
"That," he shared as the browser loaded, "was way easier than I thought it would be."

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
Huh. What was a '4Chan?'
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2013]
"You can also use it as a phone." A beat. "If you wanted to."
Who used a cellphone as a phone these days?
