Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There was the bonfire for everyone who thought Maryland in January was a little too cool for their taste, as well as the moddable warm food and drinks, and chairs and tables in the school colors of blue and gold. Some tables were also set a little further away from the crowds.

Because there were always people who preferred the fringes.

"I know that one," Bay volunteered, happy to actually know something for once. "Gert takes her out to hunt. I .... guess there's a park or something on the island?"

"I really hope so," Maddie said, wishing she'd had more of a chance to check this place out besides 'omg stairs.' "At least there's probably no challenge in hunting someone sleeping in the same room, right?"

And in a sick way, she just came up with a bonus to her future of being a walking ghost: you didn't get eaten by dinosaurs.

"Definitely not," Bay said loyally. "It'd be like ... shooting fish in a barrel. Dinosaurs aren't into that."

All of a sudden, she was a paleontology expert?

"Oh, good." She was going to go with that, because she thought Bay seemed sure. "This place is weirder than I thought."

"Duh." That was a wry 'duh,' not a rude one. "My big sister said some stuff about this being an interdimensional nexus. Like pretty much all that sci-fi movie stuff is real here."

"Yeah. And the talking pink pony was talking about waking up as different things. I'm pretty sure she was serious."

Would a talking pink pony lie? No. And if you thought she would, you were dead inside.

Bay turned her gaze to the pony. "The pony talks?" she repeated faintly. "I may be going back to the theory about somebody dosing me on the plane."

"It's a really, really entertaining psychotic break if that's what it is," Bay decided. "I mean, dinosaurs and talking ponies. I'll take it over the real world."
