Library, Thursday All Day
So, this was Evan's last library shift before the winter break, and if Thanksgiving had gotten him down in the dumps, Christmas was shaping up to be way, way rougher. After all, at least for Thanksgiving there had been the looming threat of finals to study for as a distraction. Now, there was nothing. Just that stagnant feeling of nothing to do, while everyone was away visiting family and friends and he couldn't so much as call his own folks back in Kansas to see how they were doing.
It was little wonder, then, that he had brought Ozzy with him to the library that morning, and after letting the pup tucker himself out running around after mistletoe and barking whenever it shifted around on the ceiling to avoid him, curled up in his seat at the desk with the snoozing puppy and a book.
He was going to spend the rest of the day like that. Unless he needed to actually do work things, granted. But. For now? Puppy. Reading. Denial.
Yaaaay.

Yeul considered that.
"Though they are not carnivorous. There is that." Had Evan seen the plants in her world? That sentence made absolute sense. "I will look forward to additional glitter however."
It was hard to tell if Yeul was joking or not with that.
"How are you?"
The twenty-fifth. Another holiday, a huge one by her understanding. Yeul wondered if he was staying on the island for it and, if so, how unhappy he would be on that date.

He bit his lip, and then offered her a smile.
"Ozzy helps."

She tilted her head. "I do not believe lively is a requirement for someone I spend time with. If I am bothering you, I will go. If not, I would like to stay." Yeul rummaged in her pockets, despite the fact that her skirt really, really, had no place for pockets, and pulled out a plastic-wrapped cookie to slide across the desk to him.
It was totally from her and Rapunzel's cookie bingeing earlier in the week. Luckily, cookies took longer than a few days to go bad, especially when they were wrapped up tightly. "Look," Yeul said, her voice sliding into a faintly teasing tone, "I even brought a bribe."

And so, when the cookie was placed on the desk, he blinked at it, tilted his head and contemplated it and then smiled and nodded a little.
"It's kind of fortunate that I'm totally not above accepting bribes," he replied, smiling to show that he was joking, himself. "And you're pretty great company, so I wouldn't turn you away, anyhow. Thank you, Yeul."

"I will take the compliment," she said, smiling a bit more. "And the company. You are not so bad yourself."

"This looks like a really good cookie," he offered. "Thank you."
