Combat- Tuesday- 2nd period- Class #13

At thirty-two, Jaina had participated in four wars, had ended a fifteen-year military career as a colonel leading the same squadron she'd first started out in, had led multiple squadrons that she'd had to break down and build up again, led weeks-long ground campaigns, had killed a Sith lord and was basically a Master level fighter. Teaching a class on combat was pretty far beneath her if we're being honest.

At sixteen, Jaina had only just, had battle experience that mostly consisted of "Uh oh, we're in trouble again, I hope this plan I just came up with right this second works," and only knew she was supposed to be here because it was on the calendar in her phone. Because of course the first thing Jaina did after she woke up in a strange apartment was to find the nearest gadget and find out what she could from it.

But being Jaina, she wasn't going to show that she had no idea what she was doing, especially when she thought this was all probably a Fandom thing, and tried to look cool about this. "Hi," she said, when everyone'd gotten to the Danger Shop. Because you better believe she'd figured that out already, too, and had jumped at the chance to use it. "Apparently I'm supposed to be here teaching Combat. I don't have any details on what I'm supposed to teach you-" And from now on adult Jaina would be giving herself more detailed notes just in case. "-so how about you find the thing you think you're best at and show me what you've got."

Look, you wake up and find out you had to deal with a class, okay?

It was Anakin's sacred duty as a little brother, even if he was currently the same age as Jaina, to be as much of a brat as possible.

"Bet you're not going to get any taller," he announced. He'd just hit his growth spurt. He was allowed.

"I'm in your class," Anakin informed her Very Seriously. "At least bossing me around is familiar, if the rest is weird."

Anakin. Be nice.

"That's a really good question." He'd thought it was weird at first, too. "Why, did someone tell you you're too young? Since when has that ever stopped any of us?"

Anakin had decided it was kinder not to break her brain about being older, normally. He was entitled to change his mind about that later.

Well, hello there, logic opportunity.

"Okay, you're a student here. You know how this place can get, right?" asked Anakin. "It's doing that again, sort of like when people turn into little kids."

"More like the wrong time," Anakin told her. "And it's not just you, either. Grandfather looks like he's barely older than you are."

"Well," Anakin said (reasonably, he thought), "do you remember seeing anyone here around the dorms all the time? I go here, too, but you weren't a student any more by the time I arrived."

"No, I think it's closer to what happens when half the school turns into little kids for a few days," Anakin decided. "Unless the you who's supposed to be teaching this class somehow switched places with you; I can only sense one of you in the Force."

"You --" Anakin blinked. "You mean that hasn't even happened to you yet?"

You know what, Anakin? Just enjoy the one and only time, probably, that you're going to know stuff other people don't know yet.

Anakin crossed his arms and gave her a very Solo kind of stubborn look. "If I had to turn into a tiny kitten, you should at least have to be a little kid for a weekend. Otherwise it's not fair."

Anakin scowled a little harder. Just ignore the tiny, tiny hint of a smile at one corner of his mouth.

"Do you know how hard it is to hold a hydrospanner with paws?" he whined, and that was only half joking. Maybe half. Probably less.

"I know," Anakin mumbled. "I tried. Stop enjoying this so much."

It'd just be karma later.

"That's not the part that worries me," Anakin countered. "It's the part where you'll never let me forget it."

"You're my big sister." Anakin thought that argument stood on its own.

"Except not that much bigger at the moment."
