Student Council [Friday, Lunchtime]

"Good afternoon!" Minerva said cheerfully, once everyone had arrived for the meeting. There were a number of assorted pizzas out on the table so no one would leave hungry. "It's wonderful to see you all again. I believe our only business to discuss is the matter of our Thanksgiving celebration for those who will be staying for the holiday. Karla was kind enough to offer to help things get arranged; who else would like to help?"

Yeul took a slice of pizze and sat down, still thinking about what they'd discussed in Living on the Outskirts.

Lex would enjoy his pizza, yes he would.

Rilla loved Fridays! Pizza was still pretty exotic fare for her.

Mmm, pizza. Petra would take free lunch any day.

What should we make? And who's going to help keep Karla away from the food?

"I am not entirely sure what is all involved," Yeul admitted. "But I would be willing to help, if it is needed."

She would be utterly and entirely useless at keeping Karla away from the food however. For one, Yeul was not particularly aware of the fact that Karla needed to be kept away from the food.

"I'll help too," Alec said. He'd heard... things about Karla's cooking, and he didn't really want a food poisoning incident. "I can... sort of cook."

"I can cook, and if I tell Susan back home what we're doing, we'll be drowning in pies by Tuesday," Rilla promised.

"That might be nice," Karla mused. "Leaving us to only focus on the meal itself. I work at Cafe Luke on Tuesdays, so I might be able to convince Priestly to donate some food supples. Maybe even use the kitchen, too!"

See? Worked at a restaurant! Surely any such rumors of her cooking failings must be gross exaggerations!

...Or she wasn't pointing out that she kept the books and was forbidden from the kitchen. One of those.

"Would you need help carrying anything?" Yeul asked. "I would not trust myself with the cooking but I help bring things to where they should be."

"I am certain I can manage passably delicious meats. Perhaps a boar of some sort!" Yes, Thanksgiving in Asgard.

He eyed Karla for a moment.

"Do not touch the kitchen. For the sake of those who are less hearty than I."

"Hey!" Karla protested. "What are you trying to say?!"

The truth, Karla. The cold, hard truth.

"That perhaps your womanly talents lie outside the kitchen." A beat. "For few enjoy poison."

Okay, the Student Council president was going to step in before there was bloodshed. "Hey! Ix-nay on the 'womanly talents' sexist talk," Petra told Loki, and then she turned to Karla and said, "Karla, I think what Loki is trying to say is..." There was no polite way to say this. "Well, it's just that...do you remember last year's rolls?"

"Poison is a major part of the Black Widow caste, yes," Karla said, thinking that maybe Loki had gotten confused. "But I wouldn't be brewing any in the..." she paused as Petra brought up the rolls. "I wasn't at dinner last year. Did everyone enjoy them?"

"Your culinary talents are that of horrific legend," Loki chimed in once he was done sticking his tongue out at Petra. For he was the maturest of all the gods on the island. "I think I would sooner feast upon the entrails of the undead than something made by thine hands."

"I think what Loki is trying to say here," Petra said again, with more force and a glare in Loki's direction this time, "is...well actually, no, I think that is what Loki's trying to say here."

"Like zombies! I have wanted to watch the tales of those surviving the zombie apocalypse," Loki added gleefully. "The Shambling Undead? I have been assured feels will be had."

Loki. What. How is that relevant?

"Oh because that's relevant," Karla said, rolling her eyes. "Are you just here to offer wild pig and then shoot down everyone else's ideas?"

And offer advice about quality entertainment!

"I have only shot down yours," Loki replied thoughtfully. "For I care that we not poison those who voted for us. It would make my re-election most difficult should it be known that I had not stopped such a tragedy."

A beat.

"And then the Avengers would attack."

THEY ALWAYS ATTACK WHILE HE MINDS HIS OWN BUSINESS.

Anything else the council might need to discuss.

Before or after the meeting!

Okay Friday, go by quickly and no one has to get hurt.
