Personal Improvement Through Science: Aperture Laboratories Presents Physical Education (Wed/Per 2)
Once changing-into-jumpsuits-and-boots was done and students filtered past the obligatory sign through the circular sliding doors, they'd be watched by the usual wall-mounted video camera with its blinking red light, just inside the starting area of the chamber. A quick glance would show that it was a fairly large room, albeit partitioned off into several sections by floor-to-ceiling safety glass panels and one floor-to-ceiling Material Emancipation Grill. It was probably also pretty hard not to notice the long, bright orange smear of gel on the floor, bordered by a stripe of blue repulsion gel on the edge of a pool of that gross-looking water.
"Congratulations on remembering how to make it back here for yet another consecutive week," GLaDOS said snippily. "I'm waiting for the day when you collectively forget and break your streak. You're statistically due for it any time soon."
That wasn't true. She hadn't actually run any statistical analyses on that possibility.
"Or, who knows, you could have a complete, spontaneous case of amnesia and forget everything you ever learned in these sessions, possibly right in the middle of something especially dangerous," she continued, sounding disturbingly fond of the idea. "Since today's test involves practical application of vertical movement and velocity in conjunction with portals, the 'something dangerous' is guaranteed today, anyway. Try not to break everything."
She paused, just long enough for the camera's LED to flicker twice.
"In the test chamber, that is. Unlike you, this room isn't designed to be easily breakable. Good luck."
Somehow, that 'good luck' never sounded genuine, did it?
[OOC:The ordinary testing OCD is under maintenance and has been replaced with a live-fire course designed for military androids. So it's probably a good idea to wait until it's done. OCD has been achieved. Well done, android. You may proceed.]

[OOC:

Section 1: Leap the Pit?
(The orange propulsion gel makes you move much faster across the surface it's covering. Run down it, and when you hit the repulsion gel it'll catapult you over the pit (http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/gladigotburned/37922480/66510/66510_original.jpg) onto the ledge. Boingy.)
Re: Section 1: Leap the Pit?
"Ow."
That was her face. And the glass.
"Hmmmmm."
"Ow."
That was her bum, from landing badly on the ledge, but at least she made it up there?
Re: Section 1: Leap the Pit?
After quite a bit of flailing, naturally.
Re: Section 1: Leap the Pit?
Twice.
On his third try, he figured out that going faster would help, cleared the pit, and landed hard on his butt on the ledge.
He was kind of dreading going any further. It was a nice ledge.
