"I knew you'd get it. Plus there's the bonus of giving Professor Skeeter a photograph that she probably won't understand."

He made a face. "I hope it doesn't give her any ideas about fun things to turn John into."

Rory grinned. "Well, I'll get to see it, in any case. Did I show you the pictures of John as a teeny little elephant? And as a meerkat?"

"You didn't," Anakin said, grinning back. "Do you have them with you?"

Rory pulled out her phone, flipped it open, and called up the picture of elephant!John.

"There's one. Press the button that has an arrow pointing to the right to keep looking," she said, handing the phone to him.

Anakin snickered at the first picture, then pushed the arrow and laughed again. And again. And again.

He looked through all the pictures--twice--before handing Rory the phone back.

"Isn't he adorable? I keep feeding him candy. It's only backfired once," Rory said cheerfully.

"How did that backfire?"

"He threw up on Skeeter."

Rory's smile might have turned a bit evil.

"I think I kind of love you for that," Anakin said, grinning back. "You have any photos of that?"

Rory? Blushing and grinning like an idiot.

"I don't," she said apologetically. "He also peed on her as a meerkat. Also something I did not photograph, unfortunately."

Anakin cheeks were a little red as well, but he was trying to ~~be sneaky~~ be casual. "John's got some problems," he said, shaking his head.

"Well, considering he was first pretending to be British, and then her son?" Rory said, shrugging helplessly.

Anakin smiled. "Okay, a lot of problems."

Rory nodded sadly. "So. Tomorrow evening? Or like, if that doesn't work for some reason, I'm planning on being in the common room again with Vladdie tonight. So like, you could get your picture or whatever. But I'll totally be around tomorrow night anyway, if you want to do a lonely hearts club thing, or something."

She raised an eyebrow. "Since I don't have anyone to spend Valentine's Day with, and all. I mean, unless you have a date."

Yeah, she actually thought that was really sneaky of her.

"I have no plans for tomorrow," Anakin said, eyes twinkling. "So I suppose even if I get the photos of Vladdie tonight, I could stop by."

"See, that would be fun. Since Valentine's Day alone, no matter how happily single you might be? Kind of depressing," Rory said woefully.

"And that's just not allowed to happen," Anakin said with a small smile. "So I'll definitely see you tomorrow."

"Absolutely," Rory said firmly. "My room sound okay?"

"It's a da...plan," he said.

"Yay!" Rory said, beaming.

"Um, is there anything library-related I can help you with?" she asked, remembering that her job was, in fact, not to flirt.

"I think I'm okay," Anakin said. "I'm just gonna go sit over there and work on my essays. So throw something at me if I fall asleep, okay?"

"Did you just say 'essays'?" Rory asked. "I thought you were working on ACJ? But, whatever." She waved a hand. "I will gladly throw things at you if you fall asleep. Or possibly just let you nap and keep you protected from the other aides, because I'm nice like that."

"Essay. Right. Just one." Anakin ran a hand through his hair. "Maybe I do need a nap."

"Maybe you do," Rory said, looking concerned. "Seriously, if you want to curl up in a corner here, I'll keep an eye on you so that no one goes and pretties you up, like we did to Lee."

Anakin hid a yawn behind his hand. "I think I will," he said, rubbing his eyes and heading for a not-terribly comfortable-looking chair. "Thanks."
