The test chamber -- sorry, "classroom" -- today contained recreations of several setups the students might remember from past weeks. There was the panel-equipped basketball court; the hard-light bridge that was the unholy offspring of a balance beam, a high wire, and science; a scaled-down version of the aerial faith plate vault-through-a-wall; a smaller repulsion gel pit (half the size, all the bounce!).

"Oh, you're here," GLaDOS said distractedly once test monitoring equipment scans indicated that an acceptable percentage of the students had arrived. "I have a situation to deal with at the main facility."

Which was to say that a bird had gotten in and made a nest in one of her old prototype mainframes, and now she had to go and goad the bots into taking care of it for her.

"Test on your own recognizance today. Assuming your memory isn't tragically short-term, these elements may be familiar to you already. You know what they say about doing the same thing and expecting different results?" She paused for an interval calculated down to the millisecond to be exactly long enough to hint at waiting for an answer, then interrupting before anyone could speak up.

"Go. Be that. I mean, do it."

With portals, of course. You'd totally win a slam dunk contest if you dunked with portals, right?

Basketball with portals was weird, sure. But it was an almost familiar sort of weird. And Richie was just going to sit here and make ridiculous slam dunks now, thanks.

Redirect the end of the bridge around the room using portals, but mainly, don't fall off. That's simple enough, right?

Topher was entertaining himself by playing a fun game where he walked around on hard light bridges without a care in the world... then switched up his portals so he fell into the repulsion gel. DOUBLE TESTING!!! FOR SCIENCE!

This class was not good for him.

Your faith that the plate will fling you in exactly the same trajectory every time is not misplaced.

Hopefully you put portals into the wall first, unless you like being splattered.

Victor understood how this one worked this time, and he wasn't about to pass up a second go at it. It was actually fun, once you got into the rhythm of the timing.

Billy was fond of the activities that involved flinging, and he had the rhythm down enough to not get splattered.

That persistent drip is STILL THERE.

So busy the last couple of weeks, I am all out of brains. I'm not even going to pretend I'm likely to be available today. :/
