"I'm sure most of you are keen on leaving this class early," Magneto announced as he walked into the danger shop precisely as the bell rang. "Rest assured your homecoming activities can wait. Fun and frivolity has it's place. So does knowledge."

"Before the fall break we watch a movie," he continued as he began his regular circuit around the room. "About a man and his desire for a free country for his people. You may ask: what made that man different from others? For that I can give you a simple answer: conviction. As I mentioned before, just because you may take the option of non-violence does not mean it's going to be easy."

He gave his students a sinister grin and snapped his fingers. The danger shop swift changed from blank walls to what appeared to be a modern day protest. The only switch to this that there were counter protesters on the other side.

"Today, we're going to test your conviction," Magneto said with a malevolent look of glee. "And just see how well you can do. If you wish to bow out... you may. However that may tell me more about you than any other class you have taken with me so far."

He pointed at the protest going on and gestured for the class to join in. "Begin."

"As you can see the people opposite of you are not very happy with your cause," Magneto said with a smirk. "And they are going to act against you in a... despicable fashion. Your assignment is to weather these actions. As much as you can. You may opt out of this assignment at any time. Though how that affects your grade is debatable."

Well the counter protesters have now found a heap of squishy vegetables and have begun to fling them at you. Isn't that nice?

Which is why they are now spraying you with cold water from a fire hose.

Still here? Well the opposing side is not very happy with you. Which is why they are now having you arrested. The police seem very happy to drag you off, cuff you and put you into a police wagon for the remainder of class.

Cassidy ducked and tried to avoid the stuff being thrown at her -- and then remembered she had a shield and pulled up a yellow-strengthed one.

Cassidy was full of anger at these people, but instead of lashing out at them, she brought up her strongest shield instead. She would never be able to understand such anger and hate.

At least it wasn't Agio...

Cassidy decided that the wagon thing was much safer than being out where the people could keep hurling insults and vegetables at her.

That didn't stop her from trying to shield other classmates from what was happening while fighting to get the restraints off of herself.


[[OOC: Others that don't want to be shielded can simply assume Cassidy was out of range or her energy was a little depleted from her own dealing and now trying to get her handcuffs off. :D]]

"Wait, wait, this is important:" Bucky announced, as the class was getting ready to join the protest. "What are we protesting? I mean, seriously, these people are hippies and weirdos." He looked at the Occupiers with obvious disgust. "You want conviction? Give me a reason, first."

Evan had never been involved in anything quite like this before, but he was pretty sure he was up to the task.

Evan, over the past half a year, had grown to be a bit of a pro at ignoring what people were saying about him. And the fact that these ones were yelling about something as shallow as money... that made it easier. Evan continued holding his sign, quite content to ignore any slurs that were thrown his way.

Evan ducked the first squishy tomato, made a face about it, and then started kind of using the other oncoming veggies as target practice with some carefully-aimed eye-beams.

He wasn't going to hurt anyone, but projectile vegetables were fair game.
