Evan was practically swimming today in books about music. Any and all books about music. Music history, musician autobiographies, books with sheet music and on the care of instruments from Accordion to Zither. A book about Woodstock was lounging about nearby, zen about waiting its turn. A book full of national anthems from around the world was standing up nearby, while a book about Hendrix managed somehow to use a Fender Stratocaster catalogue to play Star Spangled Banner in a way that Evan imagined might involve teeth, if the books were somewhat more people-shaped. It was all very impressive, and perhaps a little overwhelming.

"All I said was that I should probably look up some of the music my Uncle likes before the weekend," he informed the books, maybe just a touch apologetically. "I think he likes old rock."

Books from AC/DC to Zeppelin leapt for joy. This was going to be a long day.

He'll be happy for the distraction as he tries to put away sulking country music books and biographies about classical composers. It'll keep him from promising each one individually that he'll come back to read it later.
