After the bell rang, the lights in the classroom dimmed until two spotlights flicked on and started darting around the front of the classroom.

"Ladies and gentlemen," an announcer said. "It's time once again for YAKKO WARNER'S BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE! Here's your host, Yakko Warner!"

Yakko opened the classroom door as the spotlights found him, walking toward the podium in the front of the room with his hands clasped together in thanks and anticipation. Once he reached the podium, the lights came back on.

"Thank you, Johnny!" Yakko said. "Longtime viewers might remember how our game is played, but for anyone who's new to Believe It Or Don't, See If I Care, I'm going to read off a bunch of facts on a subject. Once I do, you vote on whether you believe what I said, or if you don't. And then you can go ahead and see if I care whether or not you think I'd lie to you."

For the record, he would absolutely lie. And he didn't really care.

"The topic for today's show is... Australia! So let's get to it and... SEE IF I CARE!"

This was going to go well.

Given what Susan knew about a certain place in her own world, this actually seemed entirely believable.

"Yes."

"Sounds plausible." Darcy said and began to munch on her popcorn.

"...Can we go on a field trip there?"

That was sort of an I believe you. Or at least an I want to see for myself.

"Australia is the only country that is also a continent. This is only because the penguins of Antarctica aren't dedicated enough to government. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"Waltzing Mathilda is sometimes considered the unofficial national anthem of Australia even though it makes no sense. Sample lyrics: Down came a jumbuck to drink at that billabong/ Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee/ And he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag/ "You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

"BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"True," said Ace. "We used to sing it in Primary School." She said nothing, mind you, about singing it in tune.

"Australia and England are fierce rivals in the sport of cricket, even though nobody actually understands what cricket is. Experts say that the reason Australia was first used as a prison colony was because a bunch of cricket hooligans set fire to England's prize wicket until there was nothing left but ashes. So every two years, the two countries play cricket for those ashes; England so they can prove that the hooligans didn't destroy that cricketing spirit, and Australia so they can stomp on the ashes all they want for two whole years. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"No, really, it was a British prison colony. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"Koalas have pouches, like kangaros. And if that wasn't weird enough, both the platypus and echidna lay eggs. All of these animals are mammals. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"They can have Mel Gibson back if they really want. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"What's wrong with Mel Gibson?"

Oh, Ace.

"Being part of the Ring of Fire, Australia has volcanoes. They're just biding their time, waiting to strike, just like everything else in Australia. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"New Zealand is not part of Australia. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"The Great Barrier Reef is actually a living organism. It is a giant jellyfish and it is also biding its time. BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!"

"How much did you believe and how much did you not? As it turns out, I don't care! There was some truth in everything I said, and that's enough to get you through the week. So from all of us here at YAKKO WARNER'S BELIEVE IT OR DON'T, SEE IF I CARE!... GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY!"

And then a kangaroo hopped into the room, Yakko jumped in its pouch, and they jumped through the window.

So... yeah, that just happened.

So... no talking to Yakko today.
