Driver's Ed, Feb 10th (1st-2nd period)

Dinosaur-shaped cookies sit on the table next to the sign-in sheet, as well as a pitcher of milk and some glasses (because cookies need to be dunked!).

"I hope you all... enjoyed... the video last week," Tommy says. "Today? I want you guys to talk about what sort of prior experience you have with vehicles. They don't have to be cars. Giant robots, starfighters, boats ships... talk about them and if you think any of your experiences will translate well to automobiles."

Anders shrugs. "I, uh, have no experience driving a car, unless you count, like, bumper cars or something? Bikes, that's about it. And no, I don't mean the exercise kind."

"Nothing at all. I'm more used to working on vehicles than doing anything in vehicles," Cally says with a shrug. "Yeah. I suck for discussion today."

Anders totally does not mumble something under his breath that sounds like "You could get used to doing things in vehicles with me."

Which would be because he whispers it instead, the dork.

Cally gives Anders a strange look.

Anders gives Cally a completely innocent look in return. Really.

Cally sticks her tongue out at Anders. Really.

Well, fine then. Anders sticks his tongue out right back. Because they're both so mature.

"Three and a half cycles fliying a few different ships no one here has ever really heard of, most recently a Prowler. Before that, being aboard transports, Leviathans, and a lof of other things no one else has heard of." She might sigh a little.

I've ridden in cars many times before, but I've never driven one before. The royal family has drivers both so that the best trained people can escort us from event to event, and because they wouldn't trust any of us behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Anders is suddenly very glad that all of this is virtual. Not that he would say so to Hamlet, 'cause he likes Hamlet.

"I've ridden in a lot of cars, but not counting the occasional vehicle I try to comandeer I haven't driven much at all. Doesn't seem too hard."

"Um, well, cars mostly. Mostly ridin' in 'em and prayin' I didn't die. Da lets me drive sometimes, like, around the parking lot or whatever. But we don't tell Mum."
