Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Although the summer had been record-breakingly hot, the weather outside today was actually kind of pleasant. There was a cool breeze blowing across the lawn, making the smells of the buffet wander, and hopefully enticing people to come over to the school and welcome all the new folks.

The blue and gold tables and chairs had been set out as usual, along with nametags and the lists of Big and Little Siblings, and rooms and roommates for the new students. Assuming the shuttle arrived with all of the students and teachers in one piece, everything was set for the picnic to begin!

[OCD is up, have at it! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Jackson," Jackson said. Because no. That whole thing with the nametag? Also no. "Well, at least it'll only be temporary."

Because he was fully expecting to apply for a single soon enough.

Didn't he just? Jackson was kind of unashamed about that, too.

He shrugged, like it was neither a bad thing nor anything to be even vaguely apologetic about. "If they had one, yeah. But just a single will do."

Jackson rolled his eyes. Mightily. He so did not have time for this.

"Whatever, man. Just keep your stuff on your side of the room."

Jim, because he just didn't care, draped an arm over Jackson's shoulders like he was some close friend or something.

"That's an awfully selfish attitude," Jim said, shaking his head. "What happened to sharing?"

Okay, Jim figured Jackson probably knew he wasn't being serious but pfft, he was gonna use Jackson's literalness against him.

"You're not as funny as you think you are," Jackson said, though he was sure the other guy knew that. It still bore establishing.

He was also starting to look like he was about to leave. Didn't even matter where to.

Of course, that didn't help that much when the guy was his freaking roommate, but he'd deal with that once it was time.
