"Hey," Kaidan greeted the class, "This is gonna be your last class-- and probably mine." Alliance command willing. Wasn't that he disliked this place, but there was probably something more useful he could be doing. "So let's make something of it. I want to see your projects-- everything you've been working on these past few weeks. Did they turn out the way you wanted? If they didn't, why not?"

He crossed his arms. "Oh, and we're going to put them through something of an obstacle course," he added, looking lightly amused. "If it doesn't work... you have my permission to roll it."

They were teenagers. They'd appreciate that, he was pretty sure.

"Mine is probably somewhat less sophisticated compared to those of my classmates," William acknowledged. "But I wanted to create a device that could be used for surveilliance, using materials that could be made available in my own time," he'd cheated a little with the camera, but according to his research it wouldn't be too much longer before film was developed (pardon the pun), so he hadn't let that stop him. "The lack of sophistication means it cannot be remotely activated or controlled, merely wound and then set loose." He had his doubts regarding whether it would manage the obstacle course, but he was going to give it a try anyway.
