Summer Games of Harmony, Wednesday, period 1

Pinkie honestly did not have any idea what was bothering people on the island this week. After all, she'd woken up on Sunday from a lovely dream about hanging out with all her friends back in Equestria as though none of them had ever gone off to teach all about Friendship in other worlds. And now she got to be in Fandom and teaching again!

Today's class met in the gym once more, where Pinkie had arranged eight chairs facing out in a wide circle, marked out on the floor with tape. Pinkie herself stood at the center, near what looked like an old gramophone.

"Welcome back, everypony! I'm so happy to see all of you, it's like we haven't had class in ages!"

Just like that, in fact.

"Today I've got an extra special favorite game of mine for us all to play: musical chairs! Everyone make a circle around these chairs here, and when I play the music, you're going to dance all the way around it! No fair stopping in front of any chairs, that's cheating. When I stop the music, everyone has to grab a seat! But as you can see, there's not enough chairs for everybody, so whoever doesn't get one is out! Then, when I start the music up again, you have to get up and dance, and I'll take away a chair and we'll keep going until there's only one chair left and we find out who's the winner!"

Yes, she was way, way too excited about this game of musical chairs. Especially for someone not physically constructed to actually SIT in a chair. Not that this stopped anypony back in Ponyville.

Pinkie started up the music. "So let's get dancing! Woooooo!"

[ooc: OCD is up! I will admit, I'm kind of hoping for fights over chairs.]

Juliet was doing okay until her phone beeped while the music was playing and she glanced down to see what it was about. The distraction put her off just enough that she wasn't able to grab a seat when the music stopped.

Musical chairs was easy enough. She'd at least watched it at kids' birthday parties all the time.

So do you know how frustrating it was to be the one left without a chair? It was a game of sitting down, how did anyone fail at this?

Oh, would that these "musical chairs" were actually an Iron Throne! It was a shame that the irony of this whole thing was lost on Stannis at this young age...

Especially since he started the game muttering, "What ridiculous child's play," and yet, from the first round, no one was watching the empty chairs and keeping himself as strategically close to them as Stannis Baratheon, who, for once in his life, had his duty and determination rewarded.

"You been practicing?" Richie asked suspiciously. Because it wasn't like he had been playing the game almost as well as Stannis.

Stannis wasn't sure what made him frown deeper at the words, the fact that it seemed as though he would actually waste his time on such folly or the fact that it would be considered a bad thing to be prepared.

"I have never played a game like this before in my life."

"Seriously never?" Richie asked. "Huh. Weird."

"I thought it was one of those things they made you do in preschool everywhere." He shrugged. "Guess practicing's overrated, eh?"

Billy thought he was pretty good at this game, but he just wasn't the kind of person to shove and push other people out of the way to get a seat. Oh well.

Richie was apparently really good at musical chairs. Who knew? Just not quite good enough.

"I thought I had it," he grumbled after the last round. Look, this was a pretty great distraction after what had gone on last week.

Cassidy was here, just quieter than usual.

Apparently extreme musical chairs is a real thing, if you ask the CW:

WELL. I SUGGEST A LOT OF ALCOHOL IF IT'S THIS WEEK'S EPISODE YOU'RE WAITING ON.

ALCOHOL AND SOMETHING TO CLING TO.

OH GOD, I KNOW. I was lucky to find it all On Demand on Comcast before I started watching it live.

WHAT EPISODE ARE YOU ON?

They hate all joy in the world.

It's a remarkably well written show for, you know, MTV. I'm so excited that the next season is going to follow the same 12 episode story-arc model as the first two.

I'm really enjoying the fact that stuff happens off camera. Things are easily laid out for the viewers to know 'OH, THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE' so I'm always eager for the next episode.

Catch up sooooon. Only two more episodes left and I'm all worried about who will die. THEY TOLD US SOMEONE WILL DIE. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?
