So, one of the important things to realize about detention was that the monotony of everyone's daily lives was part of the punishment. That meant that even though someone had died yesterday, the day's schedule didn't change a bit.
After all, most of your little lives just weren't that important in the grand scheme of things.

That was actually the truth. Hanna didn't know who 'A' had been back when she was home and safe from here.

Technically, she had not received any messages while here. Just the ones she imagined. But she sure remembered some of the nasty things 'A' made her do.

She closed her eyes, trying not to think about it, trying not to remember the pain 'A' put her through before she ended up in this place.

She leaned in closer. "I can protect you from 'A.' I can make you feel safe. But you must promise to obey the rules and do as you are told."
