Summer Games of Harmony, Wednesday, period 1

The class met in the Danger Shop today, which had been set up to look like a pleasant little swamp, with a set of bleachers rising up out of the water for the students to sit on. Pinkie stood in a flat bottomed fan boat off to one side, looking far too excited.

"Today's an extra special game for you all," she said. "Alligator wrestling!"

A tiny alligator with enormous purple eyes popped his head up over the edge of the boat, blinked unevenly, flashed a toothless grin at the students, then dove over the side into the water.

"You're going to be wrestling my very bestest pet baby alligator, Gummy! I'll be one of the judges, and I hope Cassidy with help me out, too, and of course, Gummy gets ~~to be the representation of the almighty hand of the RNG~~ deciding vote! So hop to it!"

[ooc: I totally didn't forget it was Wednesday . . .]

It wasn't that Juliet was afraid of the alligator. She loved alligators and totally felt bad that they got turned into handbags and belts.

But when it came right down to wrestling one, even a little baby one ... she wasn't so into it. she slid through the exercise with minimal effort.

While Gummy certainly appreciated the restraint -- he really was just a baby alligator, after all -- he was unimpressed with the general lack of drama and enthusiasm. After the match, he dove to the bottom of the swamp and returned with a sign reading "6.5".

Aww, it was cute!

Petra decided the best way to do this would be to make a big showy deal of it, with much in the way of dramatics. It was more fun that way. Hopefully for the alligator, too.

Now this was more like it! Gummy flailed his limbs and chomped at Petra's hair in a manner not unlike a clothes pin, matching her drama for drama.

At the end, he dove down and surfaced with a little card reading "10.0".

Clearly, he was quite pleased.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" Volume control, Minako, seriously. "Ah-ne? Aren't you the cutest thing in the woooooooooooooorld?!?"

It probably looked more like Minako trying to cuddle the alligator than any wrestling, and possibly kiss it on the snout.

It wasn't that Gummy didn't appreciate the hugs. It was that this really just wasn't wrestling. He might only be a baby alligator, but he knew the difference.

He surfaced at the end with a little sign reading "5.5". She got marks for enthusiasm, but that was pretty massive penalty for the "not actually wrestling" thing.

The alligator was so adorable. That's probably why she was a bit tentative while wrestling it. Or maybe she didn't want to mess her hair up today. Could go either was with her.

Gummy could tell her heart just wasn't in it, for whatever reason. He considered chomping at her to see if that would get her started, but decided that she probably wasn't in the mood.

At the end of the match, he dove to the bottom of the swamp and surfaced with a little sign reading "6.7".

Richie was slightly weirded out by the idea of wrestling the tiny and adorable alligator. Richie was also really amused by the idea of wrestling an actual alligator, even a baby one.

But because Gummy was just a baby, Richie was kind of concerned about hurting him. His wrestling, while quite splashy (look, the alligator was slippery!) was probably a bit half-hearted.

Well, at least Richie managed to have more energy than some of the other contestants. Gummy chomped away in a manner not unlike a vengeful, empty stapler to try to egg him on.

In the end, he dove down and swam back up holding a little card reading "8.2".

Pinkie's here, and hopefully Cassidy is too!

Gummy's not much for chitchat, though.

No, really, it's that I forgot I was supposed to post on Wednesday.

That's okay, I forgot to sign in two weeks running.

Petra will be representing the Republic of ChaCha. Because they could probably use the good PR.

Ha! It's all good, Pinkie won't mind.
