There were plenty of large umbrellas set up for those who didn't enjoy a good pelting of various summer related materials. Because some people are weird like that.

There was also a splendid selection of food and beverages under a canopy to keep from ingesting suntan lotion. See? Your faculty thought of everything. Except how to make the island behave.

After spending the last few weeks helping to re-build the Robear Berbil village, Lion-o was strongly tempted to find his room and crash for the whole day. But the picnic had food, and it was going to be his very last opportunity to terrorize newbies at the welcome picnic.

So Lion-o was sitting under one of the large umbrellas and making progress on a plate loaded down with just about everything available. He was willing to share the umbrella, but don't even think about taking anything off his plate.
