Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were plenty of large umbrellas set up for those who didn't enjoy a good pelting of various summer related materials. Because some people are weird like that.

There was also a splendid selection of food and beverages under a canopy to keep from ingesting suntan lotion. See? Your faculty thought of everything. Except how to make the island behave.

"I shall have to introduce you to him," Loki said eagerly. Because look, Thor! LOOK AT HIM HAVING FRIENDS.

"I'd like that," Luke said, not knowing how much he'd like it once he saw what Thor looked like. "My knowledge on the Norse pantheon is sort of weak still, what's he the god of?"

Luke, you are so the worst ever.

"He is the Thunderer," Loki replied, looking for the mountain of a man that Thor was. "Like your Zeus."

"Ah. Well I hope that's the only thing he has in common with Zeus. That guy hates me." And also he was into bestiality. "But if you like him so much then I'm sure he's a good guy."

Why Luke put so much faith in Loki's opinion was a mystery. No wonder he got duped into being evil.

At least he hadn't attempted to use Luke to destroy Asgard yet?

"He will like you. He likes me and I destroyed our home countless times."

"That is pretty forgiving," Luke said. "Sounds like you guys are close."

"He is the one who brought me back and would not allow them to kill me for the crimes of my elder-self. He even refused the All-father on that."

Hero worship much?

"That reminds me of Annabeth. Cousin, not a sibling." She and Thor shared the same fluffy blonde hair. "She wanted to take me back to Olympus instead of killing me. Didn't work out that way due to a combination of me being stubborn and a daughter of Zeus kicking me off a cliff, but she tried."

"...yes, try to avoid cliffs here."

"I actually survived that cliff kicking!" Barely. "I learned my lesson from that, I'll always wear the winged shoes from now on if I think someone is going to try to kill me."

"And to also keep people from pushing you off them?" he suggested. "At least not without a firm plan in place."

"Sound advice, I'll consider it," he said with a nod. "I've basically retired from making people want to kill me, anyway. It's an exhausting job."

Not that he needed to tell Loki that.

Loki nodded in agreement with that. "Which is why I am glad to be here. Even the Ares-Son doesn't attempt to murder me, so much as attempt to melt my brain with stupidity. Which is an improvement from Asgard."

"That little fact does make dealing with the weather a bit easier," Luke said. "Better to get hit in the head with a popsicle than a sword or something."

"I do not know if the lotion is better or worse, though..."

He smelled like coconut!

"Well, you are on the pale side," Luke said. "You might need the lotion. Unless gods don't get sunburn."

"I am a Frost Giant too." A beat. "So, no. I should think I don't tan."

Because he really ought to be blue colored to begin with. More skin tone changes were just right out.

"You're very small for a giant," Luke noted. "You're like Percy-sized."

Which was actually sadder for Percy since he was older than Loki at this point.

Teacup gods were all over the island, yo.

Loki stuck his tongue out at him in response to that. "I'm certain I will be tall enough with age."

And, you know, those giant horns on his helmet.

"I'm sorry, did you just stick your tongue out at me?" That was not very god or Frost Giant like behavior.

Well he was just guessing on the Frost Giant part.

Frost Giant behavior probably would have involved attempting to throw an ax at his skull. They were a cultured and nuanced people.

"I remember nothing of the sort."

"You're such a liar," Luke said, amused. "But that's probably a compliment for you."

"Thank you!" They had special responses to things. "Should we wait for one of the new people to run away screaming with this rain?"

"Seems like an excellent way to spend the time." Because they were mean, mean people. "I'm all for it."

They were amazing people. You know, for gods and all.

"I should take pictures for my Tumblr. Though I have yet to achieve the number of reblogs that came from that Annie girl running away from a gremlin in the park."

Because she was bouncy, Loki. Because she was bouncy.
