"Choose," Ronan said. Behind him, in the Danger Shop created hallway, were two doors, identical save for a word on each: "yes" on one and "no" on the other.

Stepping back, Ronan gestured at the doors. "Choose," he repeated.

"There's some Cranberries in there, actually, too," Ronan explained, "and a couple of references to a Canadian group called the Arrogant Worms.* Rocks and trees, and such."

He nodded, too. "And yes, that is basically the point of it," he agreed. "Wanting you to see other choices -- to recognise that if something isn't working one way or the other, or if both choices before you are bad, then find something else."

"And water, in Canada," Sparkle replied, sagely. Because, hey, he was Canadian. And he liked music. Funny, that. "Really, it kinda takes an idiot to keep doing the same damn thing over and over again, expecting a different result."

He was reserving the right to laugh at anybody who had gone through many more doors than him by the time they wound up in the meadow. Just saying.
