She sucks on her teeth, thinking. Here eyes narrow and she nods. "He didn't really have parents, where he came from. Not like we think of them. Other than that, there are secrets that he needs to keep...for his safety and for yours. And mine. But I tell you what. I'll tell him to tell you what he can. He's getting pretty good with the honestly thing."
Parker listened, then slowly nodded. "Okay. That's fair. I won't ask more than that." She got to her feet, stretched, winced, then smiled. "See you later, C.J. At Jack's party, if not sooner."
"Sounds great, Parker. I'll see you then, and I'll see what he's good with telling you. If I had my way? He'd tell you everything." She raises her eyebrows and smiles, clearly approving of Parker...if only Jack could be the kind to have one partner.
"Thanks," and Parker's smile back is bright and uncomplicated, because she like's Jack's mom, and it's cool that there's no weirdness there. "Have a good weekend. I'll see you later."
