There is, of course, junk food at the front of the room. Twinkies, Ho-Ho's, Doritos, Funyons, doughnuts, cinnamon buns, and bananas. Help yourself.

"Professor Ted's not here today, guys. He left me and Bridge in charge of the class. I would say fear but I'm a nice guy. I really am. Anyway, today's topic is The Uncharted Territories. What's an uncharted territory, you may ask? Exactly what it sounds like, dudes. Places, planets, species, stuff we haven't yet discovered. There's a whole universe out there filled with new and cool stuff!"

Discussion: "Let's say you're propelled into some part of space where no one has gone before. Perhaps you got there by a freak solar flare accident or teleportation or just really bad luck. The natives of said space are curious but wary. You have to explain the music of your world to them in fifteen words or less or they take you to their leader and bad things may happen. How would you explain your world's music?"

"Also, if you could, please hand in and present your interview assignments, dudes. Hope you didn't flake or Professor Ted might turn Professor Ninja on you."

Jake digs out his interview with Barbossa (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/430837.html). "Sooo... What now?"

"Uh," Cameron stratches the back of his neck as he reads of Jake's notes. "So basically they both use music for work. Tex' gave me a tape and the song is about women, but it's also kinda violent and they use a lot of guitars. So if you'd combine that... We get a song with pipes and guitars about drunken women shooting people?"

Jake finished reading Cam's notes. "That sounds about right..."

"Okay, so we could do something with the song she gave me. Can you play the pipes? Or the guitar?"

"No." Jake realised that that didn't help much, so to show willing, "I could whistle though, I guess."

"That could work," Cameron frowned. "Hmmm, the banjo can't be that hard to play. What do you think?"

"Sounds good to me!"

"Cool," Cameron jumped up and went into the back to retrieve a godmodded banjo.

He sat back down beside Jake and pling plonged on the instrument. Badly.

While Cameron kept on with the pling plonging, Jake sang;

"I once saw Texas at a pub
Sippin rum, with meat on a skewer
With a distant stare, like she didn't care
She said what's with the pipes

Some fair officer said, his face all red
She's too good, you're driftin wood
Texas said sir keep your peace
My heart is for the sea, and so is his."

And then he poked Cam in the shoulder and began whistling.

It took a moment before Cameron got the hint and started singing as well. Pling plonging and singing together were however hard to do, so he just hit the strings really hard at the end of every line while Jake continued whistling enthusiastically.

"He drew his scabbard without word
But Tex was hot, and he was not
He lay dead, while Texas bled
Crimson on her side

Pearl of the sea, clad in black
Lonely anchor tattooed upon her back
Double Tex, she'll hit you like a frigate
Double Tex and she'll sink your battleship."

The last pling plong was really inspiring and Cameron wondered if they would be able to get away with an encore.
