When the students entered the Danger Shop, they'd find themselves surrounded by a white sandy beach and a calm surf. There were surfboards of varying sizes propped up in the front of the room, where Summer happened to be standing.

"Welcome to Surf's Up," she began, once everyone had arrived. "I'm your teacher, Summer Pitt. You can call me Summer or Miss Pitt, if you prefer. I'm good with either one," she added, smiling.

"Since today's the first class, I thought we could start with introductions and what experience, if any, you've had with surfing. Then we'll pair you up with the right size board in preparation for next week's class and hit the water. If there's anything you'd like to know about the sport, feel free to ask me. We're here to learn how to surf, a little bit about the history of the sport and most of all, to have fun. It is summer, after all."

Summer smiled. "Also, Elle Bishop is going to be my TA for this class. Should I find myself unable to conduct class, she'll take over for me, that way we don't miss out on any exciting lessons or excursions."

Not that there's much to it.

Rapunzel was having a hard time listening what with her clearly-visible excitement over the beeeeeach!

She was practically vibrating with her attempt to keep it suppressed.

Artemis might think this class was a waste of time, but Minako didn't care. Beach! Swimming! Learning to surf!

"I'd like for you all to tell me your name, where you're from and what experience you've had with surfing."

"I'm Rapunzel." And she was going to skim over the where she was from bit, because that tended to get into questions that made her homesick. "And I've never been surfing before, but I love the beach!" Which was why she was here.

She blinked, frowning a bit uncertainly, "Is... is it okay that I don't really know how to swim?"

"Welcome, Rapunzel," Summer replied, offering her student a warm smile. "I'm a big fan of the beach myself."

"It's quite all right that you don't know how to swim. In here, we have safety protocols set up, so you don't have to worry when you get in the water," she explained. "And I'll be out there with you, if you need me for whatever reason."

"It's the best!" Rapunzel agreed excitedly, glad for Summer's reassurance about safety, and letting it go at that. After all, the beach was far more exciting a topic!

"Minako, and I'm from Tokyo!" she practically sang, bouncing up and down. "I love swimming, but I've never been surfing before!"

"I love swimming too," Summer stated. "I have to admit I'm a big fan of surfing. It's one of my favorite past times. I hope you end up enjoying it as much as I do."

Find a ~~handwaved~~ board for next week's class and just have some fun in the water, or on the beach if you prefer not to get in the water this week.
