For once, Electroclash looked to be in an okay enough mood as her mostly-new batch of students filed in. Or, at least she wasn't actively scowling at them. You had to take what you got with her, okay?

"Alright, kidlets," she drawled once it looked like everyone who was about show up had done just that. "As some of you know ––" Possibly all, if they knew how to read their class timetables. "–– I'm Electroclash, and this is Heroics, Fame, and You." She barely kept herself from rolling her eyes at the class title, and picked up some stuff off the table. "Basically, I'm supposed to tell you how you can get your face on stuff like this." She held up a comic book and a stack of what appeared to be trading cards. "Or how not to make a complete arse of yourself in the promotional photo shoot for your first cereal advert campaign, and all that stuff. But we'll get to that starting next week."

Because bah, like she'd prepared an actual class for the first week? Please.

"Today is introductions, and if you couldn't see that one coming I am sincerely wondering how you even made it through the door today. I want you to tell me your name and your power. If you don't have a power, tell me something else that's special about you." No reason. Like, say, fodder for their new capenames. "Or if you were in my last class, just tell me something amusing about yourself. We have a whole class's worth of time to kill here, kids. Let's get to it."

"Oh, yeah, one more thing," she added, glancing at the paper on her desk, "says here I'm supposed to have a grad assistant called... Rinoa? So yeah, that's one TA. And Flying Sycophant ––" Sorry, Billy. "–– you get the other spot. Now, introductions."

"My name's Angelica Jones," Angelica said when her turn came. She took a breath, because even though she knew it was safe, she couldn't help but remember what had happened in the airport when she'd gone to visit her father. "I'm a mutant. I can control microwave radiation."

"So you can make microwave popcorn without the microwave?" Electroclash wondered with a tilt of her head.

Though actually she had a pretty decent idea about what it meant in a more general sense.

"I guess so?" Angelica said. "I've never really tried."

She'd never tried to direct her powers at something that small. She might burn it all to a crisp.

"So what have you tried?"

Look, she was even being kind of nice! If idly. And mostly mining for capename fodder. But still.

"Ummm, I've made things blow up or burst into flames," Angelica admitted. "And melted ice or rock. I can superheat just about anything I guess."

"That's what I thought," Electroclash nodded. "Know a bloke sorta like that back home. I don't think he's ever melted rock, though."

But he'd burned basically everything else. Including the National Gallery.

"That also means the Hotness is taken as a name, and I wouldn't have saddled you with that anyway. So... Miss Heat."

"Oh, I already have a name!" Angelica said perkily. Even if Emma had given it to her, she kinda liked it. "Firestar."

Electroclash objected to the perkiness, but considered the name, anyway. It was a bit pompous, and overly grand to her liking, but...

"Okay, I'll allow it," she shrugged. Hey, maybe Fish Boy would throw a hissyfit over this or something. Plus this didn't mean Angelica would be exempt from embarrassment later in the course.

And there was no telling whether Electroclash would already have changed her mind by next week's class.

"Awesome, thanks!" Angelica said, happier than she knew to be spared for now.
