When William entered the library on this particular first day of a new semester, he was greeted with... a booming noise that sounded suspiciously like a clap of thunder.

Thankfully, there was no lightning or even rain to go accompany it, though the lights did flicker.

It wasn't an isolated incident, either. After the first couple of times, William became accustomed enough to the interruptions that he stopped giving a startled jump every time they occured.

"Only if it starts to rain," William said. Yes, this sort of thing happened regularly enough that he could be nonchalant about it.

"The computers are over here, if you'd like to take a look," William offered, gesturing to the aforementioned devices.

"You've read my mind, Mr. Murdoch," Holmes replied, making his way over to examine the device as he waited for assistance. For now.

Just hope he doesn't have time to attempt disassembly.

"Excellent," William said, moving to power one on. "We should start with Wikipedia, I think. It's not always the most reliable of sources, given that anyone with a computer is permitted to edit articles, regardless of whether they're qualified to do so. But it's a good starting point for basic information."

Holmes narrowed his eyes at the computer, watching it come to life with lights and faint sounds. "Are books no longer in use then?"
