Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

Some extra tables had been set up in the shade of the trees on the lawn, away from the buffet in spots where it might be less crowded and much quieter. Well, aside from the mariachi band, but at least their music was entertaining? They might even take requests!

[OCD is up, have at it! This is the SECOND post for general mingling. Use this post if your browser can't handle the comment load of the first mingling post. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"That's what Simon said," Sholeh said with a nod. "Never mind, then."

Still, a landscape this ignorant about things might not know anything about the Tryads, either! So that was a bonus, right?

"Did your big sibling mention turning into animals, too?" Kind of a conversation leap there, but if she was going to accept Simon as a voice of authority for knowledge in this landscape, she wanted to make sure that he wasn't teasing her about stuff like that.

"She did," Ulrik nodded. "I am not entirely sure whether she was teasing or not, but she seemed sincere." A beat. "And if more than one person mentioned it, perhaps it really is the truth. Unless they all got together to orchestrate some great joke on the new students."

"That's a lot of effort to put into a joke," Sholeh said dubiously. Hearing Zeela's opinion of how amazing that joke would be prompted her to add, "But I could see my sister doing that. So I guess it's still a possibility."

Ulrik considered that. "One of my sisters might be inclined to such a joke as well," he had to admit. "But my school-assigned sibling didn't really seem the type."

"Neither did mine," Sholeh had to admit. "I guess it shouldn't be too much of a stretch for me to believe, either, considering how different everything else is to my home. Maybe it's natural for this landscape to have people turn into animals."
