Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
Some extra tables had been set up in the shade of the trees on the lawn, away from the buffet in spots where it might be less crowded and much quieter. Well, aside from the mariachi band, but at least their music was entertaining? They might even take requests!

Distress creased her forehead as she panicked and wondered if it would be too rude to be honest, but then the honest just came out of her before she could even help it and she said, "No?" with a level of uncertainty and she felt bad about saying it, but not bad enough to take it back.

George hesitated, a few feet away. He could nod and walk away, but-- "I could sit here, and remain quiet, if you would like?" he offered. "Or leave if that's really what you'd prefer. It's simply that I hate to leave a lady to sit and eat alone."

"What if the lady wants to eat alone?" she asked, and she wondered if she really did, because she was still feeling back about saying no, and so she looked back up at the boy with an impassive expression.

That was the popular theory, anyway. Fawn wasn't about to start spewing her Getting Rid of the Freak theory to someone she just met...or anyone ever.
