Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
Some extra tables had been set up in the shade of the trees on the lawn, away from the buffet in spots where it might be less crowded and much quieter. Well, aside from the mariachi band, but at least their music was entertaining? They might even take requests!

Look, Topher was a fan, okay?
So he was here, enjoying his plate of lots and lots of food and wondering if he should text Peter a picture of the real mariachi band, which did not include him. As a follow-up to that time with that poncho he'd gotten at Ender's house when Peter had teased him for it.
Topher maybe needed to put less effort into remembering conversation fragments from five months ago and more effort into... everything else in his life.
