Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

"Of course you do," Aaron assured her, unable to sound more patronizing if he actually tried.

He didn't mean to! But, well, cousin! Warlord Prince! Sometimes these things collided in his brain in such a way to make him a moron!

She eyed him, not thinking of kicking him, not at all.

"Karla and Shira can tell you how well I'm doing," she tried to reason with him.

"Because Karla is such a reliable witness," Aaron replied, rolling his eyes. He wasn't even going to point out that Shira was a Terrellian witch and therefore still suspect. Even at full-moron mode, he wasn't THAT stupid. "She'd say that no matter what, just to stop us from fussing."

Oh yes, if he said that Shira was suspect, Cassidy would lose her temper and kicked him where she knew it would really hurt.

She tried to look shocked. "Are you saying that my Sister and fellow Queen would lie to get you to not fuss about me?"

Karla would probably be giggling if she saw this.

"I don't know Shira well enough to disparage the lady," Aaron said, somewhat stiffly. "But Karla? Yes. Without doubt or question. Immediately."

Cassidy managed to keep a straight face.

"That's a good thing because Shira is going to be my Healer when I set up my official Court. I've already asked her and she has already agreed to serve me." She smiled at Aaron. "That's because Karla is sensible and doesn't want you to worry needlessly about me when you're not able to be here."

"Karla? Sensible?" And with that, Aaron was just going to bend over and laugh himself almost sick.

...Which meant he couldn't respond to that Court Healer thing, which was probably just as well.

Cassidy leveled a glare at her cousin.

"There is nothing funny about what I just said, Aaron," she said crossly.

"Of course there's not," he said, sitting down now because his legs weren't holding him up. "And now I'm just going to repeat that very not-funny comment to Khardeen."

If it wasn't such an important for several people that Cassidy cared about she would have growled at the both or kicked Aaron in the shin.

"Fandom males wouldn't be laughing," she muttered under her breath.
