Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

"Yes! And I can tell you all about Lena, and show you pix! ... also pix of what happened after all the kids left and Karla and Momoko and I went out drinking to deal with it." Dinah snickered. "God. I can't believe it's been two years since it was us up there, fighting monsters."

"I feel all old and decreeped." That's decrepit, Francie, and no, you don't. "You didn't call me this time when you got all drunkenated. No fair; I didn't have funny voicemails to play for Katchoo."

"I think we were on a phone moratorium, because we hid Momoko's from her so she wouldn't call Jaime." Dinah shook her head, bemused. "I swear we'll call you next time we get buzzed. Or! You an join us!"

"I'm sure that would go over well. Hey, Chewie, no, don't get up. I'm gonna go get so drunk I wake up with tattoos that I'm not sure aren't real. You can't come, unless you want to be the designated driver..."

Other people's drunken antics were fun. Katchoo's... not so much.

"Enh. Point," Dinah conceded. Katchoo would wind up in jail for not-fun things. Unlike the rest of them. "Okay, so, I'll leave myself a note next time, to call you from our silliness." She grinned. "And you guys have to visit sometime this summer, you have to. Or I'm going to St. Louis."

"Cool! What are you guys doing this summer? Are you taking any extra classes?"

"Summer class scheduling isn't for a week or so yet. Probably, though?" It wasn't like they were going to go spend the summer with Francine's mom, though that invitation had been...semi....extended and rejected. In the way where Marie didn't mention Katchoo and Francine didn't mention that the not mentioning was the reason she didn't say yes, because communication is healthy and stuff.

"More summer trips needed too. Maybe to Kaeleer again, I got to see the dragons last June. With Kyle." Ah well. "Priestly's friend Trucker is having a commitment ceremony real soon in Santa Cruz, that's all I'm sure of right now."
