Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Somehow Tony had managed to remember today was important for things. He'd even managed a shower and clothing that was clean!

And by clean, we mean completely new. How did this boy function?

Stephanie had no idea how he did it, really. He cleaned up good, so she wasn't complaining.

"Ooo, do we have popcorn? We should have popcorn."

Four alarms. Seriously.

"Popcorn and a taser," Tony suggested. This crowd, yo.

"Even better idea," Stephanie agreed. "Congratulations on remembering to show up, by the way."

"I'm not that bad."

Ahahahahaha. Oh, you

"Mmm," Stephanie said noncommittally. "You're not hopeless, I'll give you that."

"High praise," Tony said with a snicker.

"I say these things out of love, you know," Stephanie said sweetly.

"We might be lucky if I make it to my own graduation after this," he replied, putting an arm over her shoulder. Since it was there and all.

What a strange and convenient coincidence!

"You'd better," Stephanie replied, leaning into him. "I need to have plenty of photographic evidence of how you look in a goofy hat."

"Oh, I see how it is. Only out for my humiliation."

"Oh, I don't have to go out of my way for that," Stephanie teased. "The drunken voicemails you leave me sometimes do just fine."

"Those voicemails are expressions of my love!"
