Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)

With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.

Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?

Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

There was a pale girl sitting in the audience with silver hair, a black eyepatch, a blue uniform, and a large shuriken.

Sitting by her side was a large, hulking boy; his skin was dark, his hair darker, and his vest left open to show off his muscular torso.

Each had a large shield buckle on one shoulder, although she wore hers on her left, and he wore his on his right. And both were scanning the graduates for the third member of the posse, the one who had left Garden to come here a year ago.

"BORED," Fu announced. Had she elaborated, she might have explained that she wanted the ceremony to start already, so it could finish and they could talk to Seifer. But that sounded self-explanatory, so why waste words?

"Well, it's like, ya gotta sit through the boring parts in order to celebrate afterwards, ya know?" Rai responded. "Besides, if even half of what Seifer says about the place is true, it can't be TOO boring, ya know?" He shifted uneasily in his seat. "...I wish it would start already, though."
