Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)
With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.
Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?
Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Re: Welcome!
"I'll have to do just that, then. Thank you." Jr. hesitated for a moment, and then raised an eyebrow at Karla. "Today is his birthday, then?"
That was something for him to wrap his head around, too.
Re: Welcome!
"Today is April 28th," Karla pointed out wryly. "So unless he's been lying about it to have the pleasure of sharing his birthday with me, it is."
Re: Welcome!
He mulled on that for a moment, and then glanced up at her thoughtfully.
"Provided Warren doesn't tell me to leave the island the moment he sees me here, I don't suppose you'd be opposed to joining us for a family dinner at one of the dining establishments in town? A birthday dinner, of course. I have a feeling he'd prefer to have you along."
Sometimes, Warren was a gambling man.
Re: Welcome!
As for dinner... "Thank you for the invitation," she said. "If Warren agrees to go--" and still wanted her there, "--I would be happy to have a family dinner." She tried not to show how happy that made her, just the idea of a 'family dinner' that included her.
Re: Welcome!
His first instinct was to reply with a, 'really?' He bit that one down.
"Well... then I'll ask him after the ceremony," he decided. "Have you got any recommendations for fine restaurants in town?"
Re: Welcome!
And then, since she might as well go for broke added, "Of course, Warren has some other guests who traveled a long way to see him. It's possible he might not want to abandon them for an entire supper together."
Re: Welcome!
It was occurring to him that he really had no idea what sort of life his boy had been living since he'd broken through that window.
Re: Welcome! Karla & Jr
Karla, that wasn't very nice. Not at all. "I'll make certain to tell them so," she said sweetly. "Prince Yaslana, you've already met, but I believe Prince Aaron and Lord Khardeen are still strangers to you."
Chew on that one, Jr.
Re: Welcome! Karla & Jr
"Well. Then I hope they all appreciate sushi," he stated, with an air of certainty to his words that he didn't feel in the least.
Re: Welcome! Karla & Jr
"Then we'll see what Warren has to say," she said quietly. "Whatever he decides, I won't gainsay him."
