Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 1)
With things back to normal - or as normal as Fandom ever got - preparations for graduation had gone into full swing. The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance.
Of course, the staff knew that graduation was rarely a serene event, and the fact that Ingvar's volcano was being unusually active emphasized the need to prepare the seniors as much as possible. Last year's cache of weapons had been discreetly stashed in a trunk behind the podium...and yes, they'd all been properly cleaned. Who knew what dried Viking blood could do to metal?
Once everything had been arranged, the guests were let in, and all that was left was to pray everything went smoothly.

Re: Welcome!
He gestured for Kate to take a seat next to them, even if that meant having toys waved at her by Hania.
Re: Welcome!
"Oh you know, the usual," she sighed, smiling. "Things get messed up, then they get better again, that sort of thing. Bod's graduating and kinda moving in with me."
Re: Welcome!
Hania added her own comment, but it was unclear what it meant.
Re: Welcome!
"Well, he's more or less been living with me for about a month now," she explained, looking up again. "There was some not so great family stuff and he wanted to be near me."
Re: Welcome!
Re: Welcome!
And he was still one of those people she'd just freely admit that to.
Re: Welcome!
The weather was great. It never rained. Plus you could ride sandworms.
Re: Welcome!
"We might have to take you up on that at some point," she said. "Bod's kinda looking to travel after grad, but there are no immediate plans. Plus, you're all welcome in Kansas, obviously, but it's not as interesting."
Re: Welcome!
"It's all a matter of perspective," Leto said. "And give my regards to your family." They had been welcoming, if a little odd, when he visited after all.

Re: Welcome!
It really was all a matter of perspective.
"Of course," Kate nodded. "I'd say the same to you, except you're all pretty much here."
Re: Welcome!
"Most of us, yes." He grinned.
